What our program is all about

Our program provides hippotherapy services to children who need occupational and physical therapy. Hippotherapy is a tool used by our therapists to achieve the maximum results for each of the children’s individual needs.

Hippotherapy uses the movement of the horse to achieve specific therapeutic goals. This innovative treatment has been shown to benefit a variety of medical conditions, Including:

  • Abnormal Reflexes

  • Cerebral Palsy

  • Impaired Balance

  • Impaired Sensory Processing

  • Multiple Sclerosis

  • Perceptual Motor Deficits

  • Spinal Cord Injuries

Working as a team, the horses, therapist, volunteers, and families, help our children have a meaningful and purposeful session. We provide a safe environment for treatment in order for our children to maximize function, independence and success in everyday life.

We treat approximately 85 children per week. We employ 8 occupational and physical therapists, specially trained to use the movement of the horse in therapy.  We consult with other treating therapists to achieve maximum results for our children. Creative Therapy accepts insurance and Medicaid reimbursement for therapy sessions. Children are seen at three different farms in the North Atlanta area.  All farms have covered arenas so that we can treat rain or shine.  All farms are Member Centers or Accredited with the North America Riding for the Handicapped Association.
